Hello! How are you?

 Hello! How are you?

We're guessing that I might already know the answer to that though and you have found yourself here because, actually you’re not feeling all that good at the moment. Is that right?

We all don’t feel so good sometimes and that's ok; however, sometimes, we can feel anxious, down, hurt, in pain, numb and a whole load of other things for quite a long time and that’s not ok. Why? Because the longer things go on, the worse we feel and it affects our behaviour, relationships, how we feel about ourselves, our views, work and lots of other things in life.

We often see how things start out small: they bother us in a small way to start with, but the problem ends up snowballing, growing arms and legs everywhere and we end up feeling life is going around in circles, getting nowhere and not knowing how to change it. Many people we work with in therapy and counselling describe how this causes them to end up feeling stuck and unable to move: a bit like being trapped in a spider’s web, wanting out but stuck and not knowing how to move any direction, yet alone move forward. It’s at that point they get in touch with us here at GADS and SADS for some support and guidance.

Does that sounds familiar? Even if it’s not exactly like how things are for you just now, you’re here, reading this page and so it seems that something is bothering you, hurting you, upsetting you or affecting you in some way. We are really interested to find out what that is and discuss, with you, how we might be able to support you with that and improve life for you. How can we help you un-stick, move on or find a way out of the trap or difficult situation you find yourself in? Change will be different for everyone, but do know that therapy and counselling will be tailored to you and your goals and needs at this time and go at your pace - there's no hurry to be 'X' or 'Y' by a certain date or to 'feel all better' after 5 sessions. You're in the driving seat, with your therapist as a guide and navigator.

We are here to listen, support and help you improve life, a step at a time. There's no hurry, no pressure, no expectations and no talking about things you're not ready to talk about.

However, we can't help you, until YOU take the first step and decide to improve your life or address the problem or concern that's making your life difficult. We can't reach out into the screen and drag you to therapy or counselling or bring all our support to you. You have to meet us in the middle somewhere, and that starts with you, getting in touch with us, to find out how we can help and support you.

Then, you can start working, in partnership with your therapist or counsellor, to improve life.

We can provide therapy and counselling in various forms including: in-person, online, telephone and outdoor therapy.

We can provide services to adults over 18. One of our therapists can also offer therapy and counselling to children and young people between 12-18 years too.

If you take the first step, and get in touch, we will take a step towards you too and walk alongside you on your therapy or counselling path.

I ask the question I started with….how are you? If the answer is ‘I’m not doing so well at the moment’, we encourage you take that first step and get in touch with us. What are you waiting for? Go on, it's time. We're waiting for you and ready to listen. Take that step...take it today!

Best wishes,
