#FridayFacts - Mindful Eating

# FridayFacts Every Friday I'll post some 'facts' and information about mental health and wellbeing. The topic and focus of 'facts' will vary from week-to-week. This week: here's some facts associated with 'mindful eating'. If food has become a problem for you or you find that sometimes you have a difficult relationship with food and eating, why not try some of these mindful eating 'tips' - they can be really useful. Mindful eating can be helpful even to those who don't have a difficult relationship with food - most of us could do with slowing life down a little bit - including our meal-times. Hope you find the 'mindful eating tips' useful. Have a good day, Alexandra:-)

#FridayFacts - Feelings and Emotions

#FridayFacts   Every Friday we'll post some 'facts' and information about mental health and wellbeing. The topic and focus of 'facts' will vary from week-to-week. The 'facts' this week are a little bit later than usual. This week: here's some facts and myth-busting about feelings and emotions. I work with many people in therapy, CBT, counselling, in support groups, training and in other capacities who have come to believe (for many reasons) that feelings and emotions are 'bad', a sign of 'weakness', 'too much', 'something to be avoided', and that will 'last forever', amongst many other things. I work with many clients in therapy on emotional regulation, tolerating distress and uncomfortable feelings and this work can be very powerful, especially if they believe that feelings and emotions are 'bad' or 'intolerable'. Learning more about what feelings, emotions and moods are is really important and us

REWIND TRAUMA THERAPY WORKSHOP on Saturday 29th September 2018

REWIND TRAUMA THERAPY WORKSHOP   Thanks to David Muss from the International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy for his generosity and providing a free 1-day workshop for psychotherapists, counsellors, psychologists and other mental health practitioners to learn the technique. It was an interesting day on Saturday, at Glasgow University, catching up with some friends and colleagues and other members of our sister organisation, The CBT'ers Club.  Some of us from Talking EDs and The CBT'ers Club have some ideas of how to take forward this therapeutic technique in Scotland, so you may hear more about this in the future. Thanks again to David Muss. If you are interested in the technique, see the link here: http://iartt.com/
